QUIGLEY
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
SCHOOL-WIDE BEHAVIOUR CONSEQUENCES
Level 1 Behaviours (Mild)
Step 1: Verbal reminder of behavioural expectations is given to the student.
Step 2: Student is given the opportunity to correct the behaviour.
Step 3: The staff member completes an electronic TRACKER and…
1. Sends it to the classroom teacher of the child before the end of the work day.
2. The TRACKER may then be printed and signed by the classroom teacher, the student and the parent/guardian,
or the teacher may write a brief note in the student’s R.B., or choose not to send the Tracker or notice home
(Teacher’s discretion). The classroom teacher also copies all necessary staff members (counsellor, principal, behaviour CEA, etc.)
3. The classroom teacher files all TRACKERS from her/his class (Level 1 Trackers are not sent to the office).
Level 2 Behaviours (Moderate)
(Level 2 Behaviours are handled by the Principal)
Step 1: When a student has been involved in Level 2 behaviours (including repetitive Level 1 behaviours, as documented by the classroom teacher), she/he is to be brought to the office, where the principal will deal with issue(s).Both the principal and the student will sign an office Tracker. It is then sent home for signature by the parent/guardian.
Step 2: Appropriate measures will be taken (such as in-school service, loss of privileges, student behaviour contract, etc.) and appropriate staff notified.
Level 3 Behaviours (Severe)
(Level 3 Behaviours are handled by the Principal)
Step 1: Referral directly to principal
Step 2: Action taken that is appropriate for this level of behaviour, up to and including suspensions (in or out of school)
Step 3: Parent/Guardian, along with appropriate school and district staff are notified (along with community agencies, if/when necessary)
